Obviously the vast majority of you wouldn't actually do it even if given the opportunity, because you're good people (or something resembling that). But hypothetically of course, what is the one street sign you would love to have?
Personally, I'm always super tempted to swipe these little "3-WAY" signs. Yes, I am that immature.

A Stop sign would be cool, however being on the hook for manslaughter if somebody runs that stop and kills another person outweighs any real desire for one.

I've actually stolen one of these, the no parking one:
Obviously alcohol was involved, and it was just a loose sign used for roadworks. We put it in the middle of my friends garden. It's a long time ago. When I think about it me and my friends actually got another one, but that was just a plastic one like this:
We also moved a sign to the middle of the street, we thought it was more correct that way.

This questions really speaks to me, because the only thing I truly want to steal is various road signs. They would make awesome wall art.
I'd take local route signs like the one above; CA Hwy 9 is possibly my favorite road in the world. I'd also take a 236 and a 35 one.

There's an old abandoned military "base" thing, where they used to keep tanks and stuff from WWII that has a bunch of these signs just lying around. They converted the old grounds into a soccer field.

There is a dam near me that is run by the US ARMY Engineer Corps that has these in the woods and on the river for a half mile radius. I tried to steal one when the road was closed once but got caught and had to escspe.

I have a stop sign from the 80s already, so I want something unusual like golf cart crossing.

Back in college I had a horrible habit of stealing signs. My worst was pulling a stop sign out of the ground and dragging it home. I also had the standard "No Dumping" sign in the bathroom. 30mph speed limit sign. A half dozen random street signs. I'm not proud of it but I wish I had kept them after college.

I swear I bet there's nothing unusual there but the AF puts up extra signs like those just to keep the conspiracy theorists interested

I know a guy who stole several road signs in college 25 years ago, was arrested, and then had it all dropped because of some particularly graceful cops.
To this day, he has a felony arrest on his record. Doesn't matter that there was no trial or conviction; the arrest is somehow on his record and visible to those who search.
It was not worth it.

We have signs out here that I'd never seen before. Stuff like "Mountain Lion Crossing" "Bighorn Ram Crossing" and some others that I can't recall. I made my thoughts known about this sign when we stopped at a rest stop

I "may" have taken one of these in High School. And it "might" still be in my possession.

Because I am 12 and I grew up on this road.

These two would work for me. By the way, Trier is a nice little town. It once was a Roman capital and it has all the expected goodies.
This is the sign at Sunset Beach on St Maarten. Some of the best plane watching in the world.

I have a really unusual last name, and there is actually a street named after my great uncle or some such. So I desire that sign with the family name on it.

I wish I saw this post yesterday. I've got a small collection of these, each one different, each with it's own story.

That is awesome! I just have an "Area Is Under Video Surveillance" one from a parking garage. It fell off the wall and landed on my hood, so I decided that it was fair enough. :P

I didn't see that but it's still 20 bucks VS the chance at getting caught taking it off.
I'm sure it's bolted on, so you'd need tools.

All the road signs around my school have been nicely defaced. We have "don't STOP the music," and "STOP stds." Stds being a slur on our schools initials of St. D's. Not saying what the D is.

I had to use no flash and a long exposure with no tripod. Took multiple attempts to get a clean shot. I was like, any second now they're gonna come get me.
